Cookie Policy

Effective date: 9 October 2026

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store, so that the site can recognise the same browser on a later visit. Similar technologies do the same job by other means — storing data in the browser, loading a tiny image to register that a page was viewed, or reading the particular combination of settings your device reports.

This page lists what we checked for on validlayer.online and what we found. It is published by Meljaro s. r. o., Vinohradská 3216/165, Strašnice, 100 00 Praha 10, Czech Republic, company registration 07137010.

What we checked

Cookies set by this site
Not used. The site sets no cookie of its own, for any purpose, including session or preference cookies.
Cookies set by others through this site
Not used. No third party is given the opportunity to set a cookie here, because no third-party content is loaded on any page.
localStorage
Not used. Nothing is written to your browser's local storage, which is why a tick on a checklist does not survive closing the tab.
sessionStorage
Not used. Nothing is written for the duration of a tab either.
IndexedDB
Not used. The site creates no database in your browser.
Tracking pixels
Not used. There is no invisible image, beacon or counter on any page.
Browser fingerprinting
Not used. Nothing here reads or combines your device's characteristics to recognise it.
Web fonts and third-party scripts
Not used. The text is set in fonts already installed on your own computer, and the only script on the site is a short first-party file that opens the small-screen menu and calls your browser's print dialog.
Server access logs
Used. Our hosting provider records each request to the site, as every web server does. This is the one item on the list that does happen.

Why there is no cookie banner

A consent banner asks permission to do something. Since nothing on this site stores anything in your browser or tracks you anywhere, there is nothing to ask permission for, and a banner claiming otherwise would be untrue. We would rather publish this page than display a box that misdescribes what the site does.

What does happen instead

When your browser requests a page, our hosting provider writes a line to an access log: the IP address, the date and time, the URL requested, the referring page where one is sent, and the user-agent string. Those logs are kept for 30 days and then deleted. They are used to keep the site secure, to investigate abuse and to diagnose faults, and for nothing else. The Privacy Policy describes this in full.

Nothing else is recorded. In particular, the site does not know which steps you have read, which checklists you have worked through, or whether you have been here before.

The checklists do not remember your ticks

The boxes printed beside each checklist item are shapes drawn with a stylesheet, not controls. Clicking one does nothing, and no record of it is stored in localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB, a cookie, a fingerprint or a pixel. Print the checklists page and use a pen; that is what it was designed for.

After you click an affiliate link

The course publishes a paid affiliate link. Following it takes you to another company's website, and from that point this policy no longer applies. The vendor, Crossout, and the affiliate network that operates the link may set cookies or use similar technology on their own domains in order to record that the visit came from us. Meljaro s. r. o. does not control those cookies, cannot switch them off and does not receive what they collect. If you want to know what they do, their own cookie notices and privacy policies are the place to look, and they are reachable from their own sites.

Blocking or clearing cookies in general

Nothing here needs blocking, but the controls are worth knowing. Every current browser has a privacy or content settings section where you can refuse cookies altogether, refuse only those set by third parties, or delete what is already stored. Most browsers also offer a private or incognito window, which discards cookies and storage when the window is closed. Your browser's own help pages describe where these controls sit in that particular version, and they move often enough that we will not guess at them here.

If this ever changes

If a cookie is ever introduced on this site, this page will be rewritten to describe it before the cookie is set, with a new effective date, and a working consent mechanism will be in place from the start. We will not quietly add one and update the page afterwards.
