What this site is
Valid Layer publishes a five-step beginner's course about free-to-play PC games. It is general information for an Australian readership, written to help you make your own decisions.
It is not professional advice of any kind — not legal, financial, medical or security advice — and nothing in it should be relied on as a substitute for advice about your own circumstances. It is not accredited training. There is no enrolment, no assessment, no certificate and no qualification. Working through every checklist on the site produces a set of notes, not a credential.
Accuracy and change
The course is written carefully and reviewed twice a year, and the review date appears in the footer of every page. Even so, products change faster than any course can. System requirements, prices, platform support, account procedures and the contents of a game's shop are all set by the vendor and may be altered without notice.
Where the course states a fact about a product, check it against that vendor's own current information before acting on it. Where the course states something about Australian classification, consumer rights, privacy or online safety, the linked government source is the authority, not this site.
Third-party sites
The course links to vendors, to Australian government bodies and to one paid affiliate destination. None of those sites is operated or controlled by Meljaro s. r. o. We are not responsible for their content, their availability, their terms or their handling of your information, and a link is not an endorsement. Once you follow a link, you are dealing with whoever operates that site, under their terms.

Your use of the site
You may read the site, and print its checklists for your own use or for use in a classroom, library or community group. Please do not republish the course text as your own, and please do not attempt to interfere with the site or the server it runs on.
The text, layout and illustrations of the course are the property of Meljaro s. r. o. Brand names mentioned belong to their respective owners, as the footer of every page records.
Liability
The Australian Consumer Law gives consumers guarantees that cannot be excluded, restricted or modified. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any such guarantee, any right conferred by that law, or any other right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law permits, Meljaro s. r. o. is not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of this site or from reliance on its general information, including loss arising from a decision you make about a product after reading it. Where liability cannot be excluded but may be limited, our liability is limited to resupplying the information or paying the cost of having it resupplied.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised. When they are, the effective date above changes. The version published here is the version that applies to your use of the site today.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, where Meljaro s. r. o. is established, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute about them.
That choice does not displace the protections Australian consumers have. If you are in Australia, the Australian Consumer Law and any other mandatory consumer protection applying to you continue to apply, and nothing in this section is intended to limit them or to deprive you of the right to bring proceedings where that law permits.
